RADIUM

Hardcore

COUNTRY : FRANCE

Founding member of the mythical band Micropoint in 1992, Radium contributed in the creation of the French electronic scene in its most extreme side. During the last decade of the 20th century, this group laid the foundations of an innovative hardcore style: Frenchcore.

At the same time, Radium developed his own solo career and many releases were made under this pseudonym. Zealous defender of Hardcore, he contributes from 1996 in the creation of the labels Dead End and Psychik Genocide / Audiogenic in order to promote his life-dedicated music.

1998 is marked by the release of the 1st album of Micropoint, baptized ’’Neurophonie’’, and classified today among the pioneer achievements of the genre. The public’s enthusiasm for this counter-cultural style grew and the duo performed live the same year at the first Techno Parade in Paris, in front of over 100,000 people. The second album of Micropoint, ’’Anesthesia International’’ (2000), appears like a musical turning point, from which Techno Hardcore will come to rub shoulders with other musical genres. Embracing a gigantic success, this album brings them the recognition of the international electronic scene.

The year 2001 marks a turning point in his career as he releases his first solo album "Paranoia Performance" which is welcomed and praised from both the public and the critics.  His various discographic successes lead him thereafter to scour the concert halls all over France and Europe. His second album "InExtremist", marks the beginning of his live solo performances, which delight the nostalgic ones of Micropoint’s performances. In 2004, the release of a mix-CD ’’Darkcore 7’’ on the Dutch label, Master of Hardcore, demonstrates once again the ability of this artist to compose made-for-the-dancefloor tracks with noisy and industrial sounds!

It is in 2006 that Radium delivers his third album ’’Terminal Trauma’’, based much more on mid tempo tracks and on which he surrounds himself with two awesome DJs to do the vocals: Lenny Dee, the living myth of the international electro scene on the track "Free Party Animal", as well as the young and promising Daisy for "Trust or Die". After a long break, Micropoint makes its comeback by releasing the album ’’Overdose United’’ (2008), an opus much awaited by the public in an incisive, energetic, and futuristic style, including again many featurings: Lenny Dee, The Horrorist, Punish Yourself.

Radium comes back in 2009 with ’’MasterPiss’’, a new solo album with a humorous and politically incorrect title, which inflames as much the first-hour fans as the neophytes. Three years later, he offers "Le Fake", a clever mix in the form of musical recreation, whose compositions tickle rock, pop and hip-hop styles as he plays with hit tunes of the last two decades with his most innovative tricks.

Micropoint reappears in 2011 both with a new band including a guitarist and a singer, and with a new album "Exit Mankind" pushing further the symbiosis of genres with a music mixing hardcore techno and metal. A smashing return giving birth to an international tour of explosive performances with Audiogenic.

In 2013, Radium delivers "Excess Overdrive", a new album freeing itself from the codes of the genre with assumed winks to Crossbreed or Dubstep. In this release, Radium surrounds himself with Angerfist, the leading Dutch producer of the current scene, but also with the vocals of the legendary Mc of Thunderdome parties, Mc Justice, or those of Satronica, one of the American pioneers of the genre alongside Lenny Dee.  Promoted with a successful tour of about fifteen dates, the album is widely acclaimed by aficionados of the genre and shows that Radium has lost none of its striking power! The artist delivers three years later ’Me Vs Them’, an album made up from collaborations with the biggest names of the hardcore scene: among them, Vandal, The Sickest Squad, Maissouille, Lenny Dee, Psiko.

In 2019, Radium unveils with Micropoint the album "Junk Box", an opus confirming the band’s vocation to definitively get rid of conventional standards. In the frame of the release, the four members hit the french roads for 15 unforgettable concerts, still unleashing fans everywhere they go.

As his success has grown, Radium has established itself as THE international Frenchcore reference. Through its art, Radium shows that Hardcore is not a dark and confidential trend but the music that gets on with the cheerful dancers’ march on a happy dancefloor !
