THE SICKEST SQUAD

Hardcore

Country : Italy

The Sick Dj Team is born the summer of 2000. At the very beginning, the team played a lot of different genres: Techno, Hardcore, Industrial and Breakcore. At the same time Sirio made the website called: "Industrial-gabber.com", from which were promoted some tracks of the "Sick Team" at the time. The collaboration with the webmaster gradually increased, leading to his final official entrance into the team.

One year later the three Djs decided to release an E.P. entitled "SICK 001" including 6 tracks, one of which being "Inspector Fucker". As this project, initially leaned on the idea of self-production but, encountered a lot of difficulties, they proposed their project to a specialized Hardcore label: "TRAXTORM RECORDS". One year later, their first release on the label ("Inspector Fucker") was available. All Sick Dj Team’s efforts appeared to be rewarded at last: their first ep was soon published in the track list of the "best-seller" Hardcore compilation "TRAXTORM POWER 2003". A few months later, three of the tracks had been published on the "Thunderscream" COMPILATION".

The next two years were dedicated to the extending of a new genre that they had been interested in: Frenchcore. Lots of work and various sound experiments came together in "She’s A Fucking Cocksucker", first release of this new genre, published on "Temple Of Terror 2005". New sound, new name: the "Sick Dj Team" became The Sickest Squad. Since the end of 2004, productions have been released regularly…

In January 2005, the three artists, starting to be satisfied with their work, decided to make an important step: they send a demo to the label which they considered to be the creator of frenchcore: Audiogenic. The French label, as it had appreciated the work of the team, released "The Sickest EP", published in September (eight months after their first meeting altogether). In the same time, their collaboration with Frazzbass carried out the releases "Noistorm 001 – Nobody Escape" and "Shit and Noiz Art 009 – Kill Your Brain". When Randy opened again "909% Black Label", specialized in Industrial and Frenchcore, The Sickest Squad proposed "Obbligo O Verità", first vinyl in Italian language published in September, followed by a review that has called them "Frenchcore revelation of the year". At the end of 2005, many vinyls were published and some of their tracks were selected for several compilations. The road to success was finally opened…

In 2006, the trio published a new project in Italian on 909, "Il Clitoride", an ep which soon became a success, crossing Italian borders. This one was the last project led by the three guys together, as Sirio left The Sickest Squad a short time after. The team published quickly a limited edition on Strike Records and, thanks to these releases, the team increased his success, beginning to perform in many parties.

2007 should be considered as a key year for the group. Live performances were increased all over Europe, as well as their discography grew up quite quickly: four new releases and collaborations with Randy, The Speed Freak and Frazzbass went on "Thunderdome 2007 Compilation". At the same time, the "Squad" met Lenny Dee with whom they immediately began to collaborate on many projects: one of them being "LENNY DEE, RANDY & THE SICKEST SQUAD - Boomshakalaka", which soon began a hit. Shortly after, Lenny suggested the creation of "TECKNO KILLERS", a project that included him, the Sickest as well as Randy.

After so many Frenchcore productions, The Sickest Squad decided to open itself to a new genre, creating the project "NEO GENESI" which has already led to 2 releases: the first one as "Teckno Killers" and the other one with a remix for "Martyn Hare".... They also published "SICK DJ TEAM - YOUTHANASIA" on Industrial Strength. The year has just begun and the team has many Techno, Hardcore and Frenchcore releases ready to rock every dancefloor!

In 2008, The Sickest Squad released their 1st album on Audiogenic: "The Celebration of Decelebration". This is an audacious and surprising opus, a destabilizing but terribly explosive style, resuming the best of their know-how. They had worked with the famous Lenny Dee on the track "Frenchcore Killah". The album received a good welcome by the public and the critic, pushing them in the limelight.

After that, more maxis were coming on the different Frenchcore labels of Audiogenic (Neurotoxic, Psychik Genocide, R909, Absurd Audio), allowing themselves to develop their fame. So they could play as leading artists in the biggest European festivals of Electro music: Monegros (ESP), Dominator (NL), Ground Zero (NL), Masters of Hardcore (NL), Q-Base (NL), etc.

With the arrival of The Sickest Squad’s new album "Opera Prima" in April 2012, the incredible Italian duo are set to capture the minds of the international dance floor public. Kicking off with their Bad Sensations track, the album takes you on an intense experience, powering on all the way to their remix of Angerfist’s mega hit "Dance With The Wolves",it rages at you non-stop all the way down to their dark visionary sentimental bombast "I Will Find You", which was produced alongside their fellow top Italian producer Randy. The Album climaxes with the title track "Opera Prima". An intoxicating mix of vocal samples, razor point industrial loops, catchy melodies and heavy bouncy rhythms, the album is a musical masterpiece, perfectly characterising the explosive frenchcore style of The Sickest Squad...

An uncompromisingly violent sounding act who has scored man hits over the last 10 years, who is to say just what they can accomplish over the next fifteen!
